FULL LENGTH TOUR DESCRIPTION
Travel north along the scenic Captain Cook Highway, enjoying stunning views of the Coral Sea and rainforest-covered mountains to Rainforest Habitat in Port Douglas.Situated on eight acres of land, the Habitat has been divided into three different and unique environments that depict numerous species of the surrounding rainforest, wetlands, and grasslands. 

Take some time to stroll along the elevated walkways through the Wetlands where an array of wading birds can be viewed foraging for fish in waterways beneath the boardwalks.  You will also find native species such as the Southern Cassowary, Boyd's Forest Dragon and colourful Eclectus parrots in their natural setting.  The final area is the Grasslands, portraying both inland and coastal plains.  Here you can interact with Queensland's largest range of kangaroos and wallabies from the statuesque Eastern Grey Kangaroo and endangered Lumholtz's Tree Kangaroo, to the petite Parma Wallaby.  Take a stroll on the boardwalks which overlook lagoons where both Estuarine and Freshwater crocodiles lurk beneath murky waters or bask on the sunlit banks.

Reboard the coach for your short trip to the coastal township of Port Douglas.  Here you will have some free time for shopping and exploration. See the Four Mile Beach or perhaps take a walk through Marina Mirage before returning to Cairns.

Board your air-conditioned coach for a 1 hour scenic drive to Rainforest Habitat based in Port Douglas. Spend some time at Rainforest Habitat where you will have the opportunity to see the 140 species of animal in this unique rainforest eco system.  Apart from the vibrant bird life this is a wonderful opportunity to see koala, endangered cassowary, kangaroo and crocodile.  Next, enjoy some time at leisure in Port Douglas before returning to Cairns.
