FULL LENGTH TOUR DESCRIPTION
Enjoy a brief exploration of the tropical town of Darwin before venturing to the Australian outback. Mt Bundy Cattle Station is surrounded by the Burrell Ranges and has access to a couple of kilometres of river frontage to the Adelaide River. This scenic country lends itself to bushwalking and some great Trail Rides, taking in breakaways, floodplains, billabongs and Australian wildlife, and you will be invited to experience this first-hand with a guided horseback ride. On horseback you see so much more and the horses at Mt Bundy Station are mostly Quarter Horses, known for their hardiness and quiet nature. The rides are guided by experienced horse-people who have knowledge of the local birdlife and animals that frequent the area. Up to 6km or more is covered in an average ride.
Following your horseback exploration, you will enjoy a traditional Stockman’s lunch and enjoy a demonstration of whip cracking from the cattle station team. You will also have free time to wander through the art shop displaying aboriginal art, swim in the pool and discuss life on a cattle station with the Mt Bundy working station team
Before transferring back to the ship you will also have a tour of the historical town of Adelaide River which is steeped in legends of fearless Buffalo and Crocodile hunters, pioneers and war heroes. In this picturesque riverside town, you will visit WWII history sites, the war cemetery and nearby waterfalls. Stop briefly at the local pub, the Adelaide River Inn It, home to “Charlie the Buffalo” who you may remember from the Crocodile Dundee movies.

OPERATIONAL NOTES
- Tour includes coach transfers, driver and guide, visit to Mt Bundy Cattle Station, horse riding
- Activity level: Moderate
- All riders will be provided with a helmet and must sign a waver before riding
- Only 10 horses maximum will go out at a time. This ensures total control and safety of the riders.
- The rides are always guided by 1 or 2 guides and often a guide can lead a very nervous rider
- Riders must wear closed in footwear and full length trousers
- Participants must be over 8 years old and weight under 100kg
- Riders under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult for the full duration of the ride
- Mt Bundy Station is a working cattle station, unforeseen changes in the itinerary may occur
