FULL LENGTH TOUR DESCRIPTION
This comprehensive tour will give you a wonderful overview of this truly sparkling cosmopolitan city that is infused with a rich and colorful history.
Your tour begins at the pier where you will board your coach and travel back in time to Sydney’s oldest village – The Rocks. Australia’s most historic enclave and Sydney’s birthplace, The Rocks sits in the shadow of the Harbour Bridge and exhibits the heritage of two centuries in its narrow twisting streets. The Victorian era brought prosperity to Sydney and endowed the area with scores of handsome buildings. Today, many of them still remain, nestled amongst the city’s modern architecture. You will have a brief photo stop at the well-known site referred to as Mrs Macquarie’s Chair, an exposed sandstone rock cut in the shape of a bench which is located on a peninsula in Sydney Harbour. The vantage point over the harbour from this location is simply breathtaking.
You will also travel past historic Paddington, a trendy artists’ haven of steep hills and Victorian homes and then on to the Royal Australian Naval Base at Garden Island. Other sites you will encounter are Sydney’s Chinatown, the Opera House and the Sydney Entertainment Centre before making your way to Bondi Beach for another photo stop. This world famous surfing beach is where both ‘Sydney-siders’ and tourists alike come to enjoy the half-mile crescent of sandy beach and the delightful eateries and shops which line the main street.
Leaving Bondi Beach you will be treated to amazing views of the harbour entrance from The Gap. Pass through the exclusive suburbs of Double Bay and Vaucluse, and Sydney’s ‘hot spot’, King’s Cross. Your tour then changes gears as you board a luxurious vessel for a relaxing cruise of stunning Sydney Harbour, during which you will see the magnificent upper reaches of Middle Harbour with its natural parklands, inner harbour beaches, marinas and palatial waterfront homes. This leisurely cruise will also take you past the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge and Fort Denison. Enjoy a complimentary drink and an interesting commentary on the sights that you are viewing.
Be sure to bring your camera along as this excursion offers up a wealth of spectacular photo opportunities both on land and from the water.
