Take in some of Hong Kong’s premier sight in a half day tour

Highlights: Chinese Herbal Market, Man Mo Temple, Victoria Peak, Aberdeen Fishing Village

DETAILS

FULL LENGTH TOUR DESCRIPTION
Take a walk through the Sheung Wan Dried Food & Chinese Herbal Market and learn some of the theory behind traditional belief as shopkeepers and herbal practitioners introduce you to their abundant herbs and medicines, and gain insight into old age practices. Then you will visit to Man Mo Temple. It’s dedicated to the God of Literature (Man) and the God of War (Mo), as it is for its antique shops. The temple is located about halfway along the road and a stop in its quiet, incense-shrouded interior makes a pleasant break.

Hong Kong is rightly famed all over the world for the stunning views from Victoria Peak - a sight that never fails to amaze visitors as they behold the almost unbelievable panorama virtually stretching as far as the eye can see. Neatly bisecting the near and far land masses is Victoria Harbor, its waters constantly being traversed by all manner of craft ranging from stately passenger liners and plodding freighters to sprightly Star Ferries and darting jetfoils.

At Aberdeen Fishing Village, you will board a sampan and take a cruise through one of the remaining Tanka fishing fleets. The Tanka, a fisher folk who are native to the southern coastal areas of Guangdong province, anchor their fleet in the Aberdeen typhoon shelter. In ancient times it was often believed that many Tanka were born and died on the sea without ever setting foot on land.

Leaving Aberdeen, your tour concludes with a brief drive back to the port.
