DETAILS

FULL LENGTH TOUR DESCRIPTION
This morning, you will be transferred to the Macau Ferry Terminal where you will board a public turbojet to Macau. The Macau Special Administrative Region has an area of 29.2 sq. km, comprised of the Macau Peninsula (with 9.3 sq. km and connected to Mainland China), the islands of Taipa (6.7 sq. km) and Coloane (7.6 sq. km) and the reclaimed area COTAI (5.6 sq. km). The three bridges connecting Macau to Taipa are Nobre de Carvalho (2.5 km long), the Friendship Bridge (4.5 km long) and Sai Van Bridge (2.2 km long). The longest one (Friendship Bridge) leads directly to Macau International Airport located on the Island of Taipa.

Upon completing arrival formalities, you will be on board the air-conditioned coach. Sightseeing here will begin with a visit to the Ruins of St. Paul’s church, probably the most important landmark of Macau.  These are the ruins of the old church and college of the Holy Mother of God (Madre de Deus) constructed in the 17th century.  The majestic stone façade is the only remainder of the building which was destroyed by an 1835 fire.  Walk across to the attractive Museum of Macau, built into the historic Monte Fort on a hill overlooking the inner harbour.  The museum embodies the life of the territory and its people from the first settlement to the present day and contains a vast collection of historic and social memorabilia.

One of the highlights of your tour will be a visit to the Macau Tower. Upon arrival, a high-speed, glass-fronted elevator will whisk you up to the 714-foot-high Observation Lounge. Upon reaching the Tower’s main viewing area on the 58th floor, you can enjoy spectacular panoramic vistas and photo opportunities over Macau landmarks and historical sites. Hen, you  will also pay a visit to the Temple of A-Ma, dedicated to the seafarers’ goddess.  The temple consists of prayer halls, pavilions and courtyards built into a boulder-strewn hill and connected by winding pathways. Lunch will be served at a local renowned restaurant

Enroute back to the ferry terminal, enjoy a brief stop at the Hotel Lisboa or other hotel to see the casino action.  Then, return to Hong Kong by turbojet.  On arrival on Hong Kong Island, you will be transferred to the ship.
