FULL LENGTH TOUR DESCRIPTION
This morning, you will be transferred to the airport in Manta for your short 30-minute flight to Quito.

On arrival in the capital, make your way north out of the city to the “Mitad del Mundo,” or the Middle of the World, where you will have time to visit the line marking the Equator – an irresistible opportunity to stand with one foot in the northern hemisphere and the other in the southern hemisphere!

After a brief visit and some free time, return to Quito for a short tour of the historical centre – one of the most beautiful in Latin America. Arrive in the Plaza de la Independencia, the square at the heart of Colonial Quito. Using the square as a base, visit La Compañía: this Jesuit temple has been dubbed by many as the most beautiful church in Latin America due to its awe-inspiring gold-leaf interior, painted ceiling, and its colonial art collection, one of the best in the world.

Also visit the beautiful Plaza San Francisco and the San Francisco Convent, Ecuador’s oldest church and home to an excellent art collection, before heading for the Patio Andaluz Hotel, or similar, for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the airport for your return flight to Manta, where you will return to the pier.

See why it’s known as the Middle of the World with a visit to the line marking the Equator, and stand with one foot in each hemisphere.
