Deepalaya, Delhi
Deepalaya is a non-government development organisation working on issues affecting the urban and rural poor, with a special focus on children. Organisation of community is the approach through which empowerment, capacity building and social transformation are attempted. The long-term vision of Deepalaya is to emancipate the whole community, through interventions at the levels of a child, the family and the community with extra emphasis on girls, street children and disabled children.
Visit Deepalaya with Akorn
During their visit to Deepalaya, guests will enjoy a brief traditional welcome performed by the students. Akorn guests are able to visit all of the eight classes; interact with children, teachers and the principal. However the school remains closed on weekends, government holidays as well as summer and New Year holidays.
