FULL LENGTH TOUR DESCRIPTION
Depart the pier with your professional guide and leave Auckland city for a half day sightseeing tour. The magnificent Waitakere Ranges on the West Coast form Auckland’s largest regional park.
Today visit the Arataki Centre, which offers spectacular views of both coasts and magnificent Maori carvings and KareKare beach, the location for the award-winning movie “the Piano”. Pass through grassy areas on the level sandy track, through a Pohutakawa glade then out to the beach over sand dunes, where your guide will explain all about the fascinating local history, flora and fauna of the region and you get the opportunity to stroll on an unspoiled black sand beach.
After refreshments, your journey then proceeds into dense rain forest, giant Tree Ferns and New Zealand’s famous Kauri tress. Along the walk native birds and magnificent waterfalls give you a true insight and feel for the unspoiled native bush – a classic kiwi experience. Return by vehicle with your guide back to the ship.

Leave Auckland city and travel to the Arataki Centre which offers spectacular views of both coasts and magnificent Maori carvings and KareKare beach. You will also have some time at leisure to stroll along the beach. After refreshments, travel into the dense rain forest, passing giant Tree Ferns and New Zealand’s famous Kauri tress.
